Your own private beach on Georgian Bay

Everyone comes to Blue Mountain for the hills. Our guests get the part most people never see — a private, sandy stretch of Georgian Bay shoreline, reserved for Tyrolean Village guests and just five minutes from the chalet. No crowds, no day-trippers — just your group, the water, and the sun going down over the escarpment.

A beach that comes with your stay

Blue Mountain sits on the southern shore of Georgian Bay — and this sandy stretch of it is private, reserved for guests of Tyrolean Village Resorts rather than the public. It’s about five minutes from the chalets: room to swim, paddle, build a sandcastle with the kids or set up a volleyball net, without the crowding of a public beach.

Slow mornings by still water

Bring your coffee down before the day starts. Because the beach is private, calm mornings stay calm — the bay goes glass-flat and it’s just your group and the escarpment across the water.

Room for the whole group

A family reunion, a golf weekend, a bachelor or bachelorette party, a corporate retreat — with the beach reserved for guests there is room to spread out. Swim, throw a frisbee, or run a beach-volleyball match, then head back to the hot tub.

Kayak, paddleboard, and open water

Push off straight from the sand. The water along this stretch is calm and shallow, so a kayak or paddleboard is an easy afternoon rather than an expedition. Once you’re out, the bay opens up — the escarpment and the ski runs laid out across the water, and room to paddle as far as you feel like.

Bring your own, or rent one — kayak and paddleboard rentals are available in the area.

Two views in one

Stand at the water and you get both at once: the sandy shoreline in front of you and Blue Mountain’s ski runs rising green across the bay in summer. Come fall, the whole ridge turns colour behind the water.

Bonfires and BBQs on the sand

There are fire-pit and charcoal-BBQ areas set up right on the private beach. Watch the sun drop over the escarpment in front of a bonfire, roast marshmallows with the kids, and let the evening run long — the best part of a day at the water.

Does Blue Mountain have a beach?

It does — Blue Mountain sits right on Georgian Bay. Beyond the ski hills, our guests have private beach access on a sandy stretch of shoreline, about a five-minute drive from the chalets.

Is it sandy, and can you swim?

Yes — it’s a sandy Georgian Bay shoreline with calm, shallow water that’s good for swimming and paddling right through the summer.

How far is the beach from the chalets?

About five minutes by car. Guests usually spend the afternoon at the water and drive back to the chalet — and the hot tub — for the evening.
