What are the best cottages at Blue Mountain?

Last reviewed October 2026 · By the Tyrolean Village team, family-run at Blue Mountain since 1964

Short answer

The best cottage at Blue Mountain is the one that fits your group. For up to 20 under one roof, our 8-bedroom chalet #54 has a private hot tub and a sauna. For 14 in a newly built home, pick one of our three luxury chalets. For a family of up to 10 with a dog, our 4-bedroom cottages are the top choice. All of them are a 7 to 10 minute walk from the ski hills.

What makes a cottage the best fit

Three things decide it for most groups. First, beds: count real beds, not bedrooms, so nobody ends up on a couch. Second, shared space: one kitchen, one long table and one living room are what make a group trip work. Third, the walk: a cottage near the lifts and the Village means the cars stay parked. Hot tubs matter to most groups too. At Tyrolean they come with chalet #54 and the three luxury chalets; the 4-bedroom cottages and the apartment have a fireplace and a BBQ but no hot tub.

Best for a ski weekend, best for summer

In winter the ski hills are a 7 to 10 minute walk from the chalets, or a 1 to 2 minute drive, and the 4-bedroom apartment is 150 m from the lifts. Blue Mountain Village is 10 to 20 minutes on foot. In summer our guests have a private beach on Georgian Bay about five minutes’ drive away, plus volleyball and soccer fields and a baseball diamond on site. For 20 or more, see which chalets fit a big group.

What the top cottages cost

The 4-bedroom apartment and cottages are about $375 to $400 a night midweek. Chalet #54 is about $1,000 midweek and $1,600 on a weekend, which is about $80 a person for a group of 20. A luxury chalet is about $1,950 on a weekend night. All of these are before tax. Current ranges for every cottage are in our price guide.
