How far in advance should you book a Blue Mountain chalet?
For Christmas, New Year’s, Family Day and March Break, book 3 to 4 months ahead; those weeks fill first. For a regular winter weekend, 4 to 8 weeks is usually enough, and midweek or fall and spring dates often have room a few days out. When we checked our calendar in late September 2026, Christmas week was already about 30% booked across our seven chalets, New Year’s was 20% booked, and Family Day weekend and March Break were still wide open.

The numbers move every day, and each chalet page shows live availability for your dates. The pattern holds every year: the two holiday weeks go first, then winter weekends, and midweek dates stay open longest.
A booking timeline that works
- Christmas and New Year’s: book by the end of September. Groups that want a specific chalet, or two side by side, book in the summer.
- Family Day weekend and March Break: book by early December.
- Other winter weekends: 4 to 8 weeks ahead. The luxury chalets and chalet #54 go first because they hold the biggest groups.
- Summer long weekends: 2 to 3 months ahead, especially if you want the private beach at its best.
- Midweek, fall and spring: usually a few days is enough, and these are the lowest prices of the year.
Booking early costs you nothing
A booking takes a 40% deposit, and the balance is due 30 days before arrival. Cancel 30 days or more before your stay and you get a full refund, less the 3% card processing fee. Inside 30 days the booking is non-refundable, though if we manage to re-book the chalet we refund what it re-booked for, less an admin fee. So reserving early locks in the chalet without locking you in, as long as you decide before the 30-day mark. Details are on our FAQ.
If you’re booking late
Unsold dates sometimes get a last-minute discount, and we send those to our newsletter first; the sign-up is on our homepage. Midweek stays are the easiest to find on short notice, and large groups can sometimes book a single night, depending on availability, where our usual minimum is 2 nights (3 over holidays). If your dates show as taken, call us at (416) 213-7437: plans change, and we can also suggest a neighbouring chalet or nearby dates.

Can I book a year ahead?
Yes. Our online calendar takes bookings up to about 12 months out, and you can call us for dates beyond that.
Do prices go up closer to the date?
No. Prices depend on the dates, not on when you book: holiday and weekend nights cost more than midweek whenever you reserve them. The only late change is a possible last-minute discount on unsold dates.
What if we book early and our plans change?
Cancel 30 days or more before arrival for a full refund less the 3% card fee. Inside 30 days the stay is non-refundable unless we can re-book the chalet.
Which chalets book first?
The three 7-bedroom luxury chalets and the 8-bedroom chalet #54, because they fit the biggest groups. The 4-bedroom cottages and apartment usually have room later.
