What are the minimum stay and check-in times for a Blue Mountain chalet?
The minimum stay is 2 nights, and 3 nights over long weekends and holidays; large groups can sometimes book a single night, depending on availability. Check-in is between 4 and 7 PM at our office at 796455 Grey County Rd 19, across the street from Blue Mountain’s Area 4, and checkout is 11 AM. A late checkout until 3 PM can sometimes be arranged for $50 plus tax. A $1,500 security deposit is held on a credit card at check-in and released after your stay.
Minimum stay
Every chalet has a 2-night minimum. Over long weekends and holiday periods (Christmas, New Year’s, Family Day, March Break and the summer long weekends) the minimum is 3 nights. Based on availability, large groups can sometimes be accommodated for a single night; call us to ask. The booking calendar on each chalet page shows the minimum for your dates before you book.
Check-in
Check in between 4 PM and 7 PM at our office, 796455 Grey County Rd 19, The Blue Mountains, across the street from Area 4 at Blue Mountain Resort. Type Tyrolean Village Resorts into Google Maps and it brings you straight to the door. You’ll pick up your keys there, and a $1,500 security deposit is pre-authorized on a credit card. Nothing is charged as long as the chalet is left in good shape, and the hold is released within 5 to 7 business days after checkout. If you need to arrive outside the check-in window, call the office before you leave home and we’ll make arrangements.
Your confirmation package arrives by email once your deposit is processed. It includes the rental agreement to sign electronically, check-in instructions, the address and directions.
Checkout
Checkout is 11 AM. Based on availability, a late checkout until 3 PM can be arranged for $50 plus tax; ask at the office. Before you leave, close the windows, turn off the lights, wash and put away the dishes, put the furniture back where it was, and bag your garbage and drop it at the bins beside the volleyball courts on Tyrolean Lane. Then bring all your keys back to the office. A cleaning charge comes off the security deposit if the chalet isn’t left in reasonable condition.
What to bring
In our Swiss-style chalets (#54, FO1, FO2 and B1), each bed has pillows, a comforter and mattress and pillow covers, but you bring your own bed sheets, pillowcases and towels. Bedding sets can be ordered in advance for $11.30 per bed, or $15 with a bath towel. Our luxury chalets A15, A16 and A17 come with linens and towels. Kitchens are fully equipped with pots, pans, cutlery, a coffee maker and a standard-size fridge, so bring groceries and a cooler or two for a big group; food staples like salt, oil and spices aren’t provided. BBQs are on the decks from spring to fall, and the luxury chalets have them all year; in winter a BBQ can be rented for $95 for the weekend if arranged ahead. All parking is on site at your chalet, and the town doesn’t allow parking on the street.
House rules that come up at check-in
Guests must be 25 or older unless you’re a family with children or have the manager’s approval, and high school graduation events aren’t permitted. Only the guests booked into the chalet may stay in it; no additional guests or visitors. The town has a 24-hour noise bylaw, so no amplifiers or loud sound systems, and under municipal bylaw 2021-70 the hot tub closes between 11 PM and 7 AM, with a $500 fine and loss of the security deposit for breaking it.
