Ski Clubs and School Ski Trips: Group Lodging at the Base of Blue Mountain

Blog · October 12, 2026 · By the Tyrolean Village team, family-run at Blue Mountain since 1964

A ski trip for a club or a class is mostly logistics: getting everyone to the hill, fed, warm and back in one place at night. Tyrolean Village sits at the base of Blue Mountain, so the hill is a walk away and the whole group sleeps at one address.

A short walk to the lifts

Blue Mountain is Ontario’s largest ski resort, with about three dozen trails from beginner hills to double black diamonds, which suits a group with mixed ability. Our chalets are a 7 to 10 minute walk from the ski hills, or a 1 to 2 minute drive, and our 4-bedroom apartment is 150 m from the lifts. They aren’t ski-in, ski-out, but nobody needs a shuttle. Blue Mountain Village is 10 to 20 minutes on foot for an evening out.

One address for the whole group

Up to 208-bedroom chalet #548 bedrooms, 15 beds, hot tub, sauna, rec room with ping pong
Up to 20FO1 + FO2 duplexTwo 4-bedroom cottages in one building, each with its own kitchen
Up to 28Two luxury chalets14 beds each; linens and towels included
Up to 42All three luxury chaletsSide by side: one for students, one for chaperones, one for the rest

Separate houses next door to each other make supervision simple: leaders can take one chalet and still be steps from the others. See chalets for groups of 20 or more and booking several chalets together.

Midweek is where the value is

Clubs and schools usually travel Monday to Thursday, which is when our rates are lowest. Chalet #54 is often about $1,000 a night midweek before tax, or about $50 a person for a group of 20, with the kitchen, hot tub and sauna included. Weekends and holiday weeks cost more and fill first: Christmas, New Year’s, Family Day and March Break. Our booking timeline shows how far ahead each one goes, and the price guide has every chalet.

Meals, gear and evenings

Each chalet has a full kitchen, so breakfast and dinner happen at the house; fridges are standard size, so bring a cooler for a group of 20. If you’d rather not cook, caterers and private chefs come to the chalet. Ask the office about discount ski and snowboard rentals for our guests. After skiing, there’s the fireplace, the rec room and, at #54 and the luxury chalets, a private hot tub that closes at 11 PM.

For a day off the downhill, there’s cross-country skiing at Highlands Nordic and on the Georgian Trail, plus tubing, skating and snowshoeing nearby; see winter activities.

School and youth groups

We host a great many school and youth groups – soccer, ski and hockey teams most often. Students stay with adult chaperones, and the trip is set up with our office before you book, so call us with your dates, numbers and the ratio of adults to students. Our usual rule is that guests are 25 or older unless the manager approves otherwise, and graduation parties aren’t permitted. Each chalet has a maximum number of guests, a $1,500 security deposit held at check-in, and the town’s noise bylaw applies at all hours.

Practical details for organizers

Check-in is 4 to 7 PM at our office on Grey Road 19 and checkout is 11 AM; a late checkout until 3 PM can sometimes be arranged for $75 plus tax, which helps on a ski day. The minimum stay is 2 nights, or 3 over holidays. A booking takes a 40% deposit with the balance due 30 days before arrival, and you can cancel 30 days or more ahead for a refund less the card fee. Parking is on site at each chalet; if you’re coming by coach bus, call the office first. Beds come with bedding sets, pillows and comforters; in the Swiss-style chalets, guests bring their own towels. More in minimum stay and check-in and chalets for a group ski trip.

Plan the trip

Send us your dates, your numbers and how you’re travelling, and we’ll hold neighbouring chalets for your group.
